Get Judge Jones on the Ballot
The first step to electing Judge Ben Jones to a full term is making sure his name appears on the Spring 2026 ballot. To do this, we need your help collecting nomination signatures from eligible Dane County voters.
Collecting nomination signatures is easy and a big help to Ben’s campaign. Follow the how-to steps below to get started.
1.
Download and print the nomination sheet
Paper forms are necessary per Wisconsin law.
2.
Gather signatures
Please, print and sign the sheet for yourself – then, circulate the sheet among other Dane County voters. This can be friends, colleagues, classmates, or anyone in your community. It is also common to go door-to-door in your neighborhood, or to gather signatures in high-traffic areas like shopping centers or festivals.
3.
Return signature forms no later than Dec. 20
This is the important part!
You have options for returning completed nomination forms:
Mail completed forms to Ben Jones for Judge, 250 Waterman Street, Oregon, WI 53575. No staples. Ensure at least $.78 postage is applied. Add more stamps if you collect more than one page!
Drop off nomination papers before December 20 at our mailing address in Oregon, WI.
NOTE: We will have very limited capacity to pick up completed forms in Dane County. This will be on case-by-case basis. Please get in touch if you are unable to send or drop off the forms by the December 20 deadline.
• Petition signers must be “qualified electors” and reside in the district with which the candidate is seeking election. For this race, that means all signers must reside within Dane County.
• You do not need to be registered to vote to sign the petition but rather eligible to register and vote. “Eligible” generally means 18 years or older, a U.S. Citizen, has lived in Dane County for at least 28 days, and has not lost the right to vote due to a criminal felony conviction for which the person is currently on probation, parole or extended supervision.
• Petition circulators must be eligible to vote in Wisconsin, but do not need to reside within Dane County. So, people from outside Dane County can be “circulators,” which means they can get signatures, they just can’t sign the petition themselves.
• Petition circulators must personally witness each signature, this means papers cannot be left unattended for signature collection.
• Please do not sign and date the bottom until after you have collected the signatures from the public. If the petition includes any signatures dated after your signature date, then those signatures will be invalid.
• Make sure the names and addresses are legible and that all information is filled out in its entirety. All fields other than the telephone number are required by the Wisconsin Election Commission and the signature may not be counted if any information is incomplete.
• Before handing in completed petitions, make sure you as the circulator have signed and dated the bottom of the page – again, wait to do that until you have collected as many signatures as you are going to on the page. You do not need to fill out all ten signatures on the page. If you can only get a few, that’s fine.
• Please do not number the pages in the bottom right hand corner; the campaign will enter the page numbers.
You may gather signatures by going door to door, circulating them at appropriate events, or on public property. If you're on private property, you must gain the property owner’s permission before gathering signatures there. If you’re a government employee, you can collect signatures only in public areas of government buildings, and only when you’re not on the clock.
We request that nomination papers be submitted back to us by December 20 in order to allow appropriate time to process the forms before submitting them. Please mail or drop off all completed nomination papers to us at:
